On a visit to College Lake Nature Reserve in Buckinghamshire, I was amazed to see the grass full of large quantities of beautiful wild orchids.

The chalky soil is obviously ideal for them, and I've not seen so many together for decades.

There were three types, Common Spotted, Pyramidal, and the beautiful Bee Orchid, all amongst the other wild flowers - so many it was hard not to walk on them!
