A tender moment observed

Doe and Fawn

I recently spent a very enjoyable holiday up in my favourite county of Northumberland, with plenty of wildlife to observe.

On the hillside beside my B&B at the Old Mill in Guyzance lived a family of roe deer, and I was able to watch them daily.
To my great delight, one of the does had a fawn, and I spent time especially early in the mornings, watching them.

A boat trip out to the Farne Islands was a marvellous opportunity to watch a host of sea birds and seals up close, with rafts of guillemots and the ever-comical puffins on land and sea - I'm sure that I shall be using some of the reference I gained in some
paintings very soon.
