This week I demonstrated pastel painting to the Willoughby Society - a village group who have wide interests including art and natural history, and they were a very responsive and interested group.

My subject was the robin who nests outside my kitchen window, which gives me a grandstand view of his territorial spring song.
During the evening I felt the painting was going quite well, but wasn't complete, so I did another couple of hours work on it later before I was happy with the results.

This seems to have been a good year for observing robin behaviour, so I'll probably do several pictures involving them.
