I revisited Rutland Water recently, with friends from The Wildlife Art Society.

I had hoped to see Ospreys, but no luck there - but was delighted to spot this colourful broad-bodied chaser dragonfly hawking around his territory of a small reedy pond.

The fields were full of wild flowers including many pyramidal orchids, and also large numbers of goslings and cygnets were about, and I'm sure that all this will translate into some paintings soon.
