Birds on Chanonry Point
Turnstones taking cover
16/11/2015
After a hectic season of Exhibitions, I was glad to have a relaxing holiday recently in Scotland.
As usual in October, the weather was mixed, but there were plenty of wildlife treats in store.
Migrants birds were massing there, and I watched a huge flock of pink-footed geese feeding on stubble, and then flying off at sunset - what a spectacle. The sight and sound was truly thrilling, and I plan to make some work based on this.
Whilst on Chanonry Point in the Moray Firth, I watched flocks of Turnstones taking cover from the strong winds, gathering on the shingle edge as the tide came in, and again I think I shall be able to use this idea in my work.
