WI ladies enjoyed the demonstration
Talking of Puffins

Earlier this week I gave the ladies of the Flore WI a talk about how I work, and a demonstration in pastel drawing.
I chose as my subject Puffins, which I must admit I have painted many times, because they are such characterful birds.
These were living on the Farne Islands in Northumberland when I visited in May, and they sat on the cliff-top overhead as the boat passed below.
Some of them had such amusing postures that I couldn't resist another work based on them, and I think the ladies really enjoyed seeing the picture developing over the evening.
