Sleepy Owl in the trees
Tawny Owl
18/03/2017
A week or so ago, I demonstrated in pastels for the Deering Road WI in Rugby, painting a Tawny Owl.
Tawny owls often rest up during daylight in the crook of a tree, right up against the trunk, waiting until dark to be more active, so this is how I pictured the owl, and the soft pastels helped to portray its soft feathers well.
The ladies of the WI were most appreciative, and very complimentary about the work.
After a little more work on the painting, I was happier with its progress.
