During Warwickshire Open Studios in June, I was demonstrating each weekend.
The first weekend I painted in acrylics, the last weekend I worked in paper cut, and
the middle weekend I was sketching a trio of robins in colour pencil.







I had seen the robin whilst on holiday in Scotland the previous year - he was very
friendly, being used to tit-bits, and was happy to pose for me for quite a while, and
I was happy to have such close reference for my pictures.

He kept a close eye on me throughout, giving me an idea for the title of the work:
"Keeping an Eye on You".

I worked the sketches in colour pencil, which I find works well with a close-up,
illustrative style.
