Watching red squirrels in a peaceful nature reserve
Red Squirrel

In April I had a much needed short break up in Eastern Cumbria, and spent
time in the very attractive countryside.
An old disused railway line which crosses under the Settle/Carlisle line has
been turned into a nature reserve by the local Wildlife Trust, and proved to
be a wonderfully peaceful walk - the banks were dotted with primroses and
wild garlic, and a few bluebells were just emerging.
I was also delighted to spot a red squirrel climbing around in the trees, and
managed to take some film of its acrobatic progress.
