Last week I twice visited my local nature reserve, Brandon Marsh, to watch
the murmuration of starlings that congregates there before coming down to
roost in the reedbeds.

This happens each autumn and winter night towards sunset, so as well as
watching the spectacle of thousands of starlings forming overhead, I was
treated to a spectacular sunset as well.

I have already used this sight to design a paper cut - this time I feel that a
painting may result from the experience.
