I recently visited Sandwell Valley RSPB reserve near Birmingham,
with friends from The Wildlife Art Society.

Although a very hot day, we were able to watch plenty of birdlife, including
this coot, who had made a wonderful construction of twigs to hold its nest.

I thought the nest would make an interesting paper cut subject, and I look
forward to developing this idea further.
